One of the many reasons we are so proud of the
Hope Volunteers is that you always want to do more for others, helping to make each day a gift.
Recently, a group of volunteers had a birthday party for Polly, who is in the care of Hope Hospice.
Their heartfelt mission was to make sure that she had a happy birthday - a special moment and cherished memory. After all, that's what Hope is all about!
Polly said, "We had a ball!" and she loved her gifts - a knitted shawl, booties, lap robe, and teddy bears - all made by volunteers. Along with her birthday cake, they served her favorite ice cream: peppermint chocolate chip.
She was so grateful for what she described as her best birthday ever - her 100th!
Thank you, Hope Volunteers, for making life so much better for everyone in our care.

Music Volunteers in Polk County
Recently, a group of talented music volunteers performed for Hope residents and families in Lakeland's Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. Many volunteers were students at Harrison School of the Arts. If you know someone who loves music and would like to volunteer with Hope in Polk county, please contact Amy Arnold.
Front Desk Volunteers
We need your help at the front desk of the administration office at HealthPark. Three hour shifts are available. If you are interested, please contact Barbara Tvedt.
Hope Chest Helpers
Volunteers are needed to work at the cash register of our resale store in North Fort Myers. Shifts are four hours; 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hope Chest also needs a bagger at checkout from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on Mondays and Saturdays. Contact Jane Davis to volunteer.

| Help Patients Nearing End of Life | 
11th Hour Class
Join us for a special class that will prepare you to sit at the bedside of patients when they are approaching the end of life. Our 11th Hour volunteers are essential to providing exceptional care and support at this time.
September 14 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

New Volunteer Orientation Classes If you have a friend or family member who would like to become a Hope volunteer, please contact Joe Pardi. Orientation will be held on the following dates: Sept. 8 - Hope Chest, begins 1:00 p.m. Sept. 15 - Fort Myers, begins 8:30 a.m. Oct. 13 - Hope Chest, begins 1:00 p.m. Oct. 15 - Fort Myers, begins 8:30 a.m. Identification Badges It is important that we wear our identification badges whenever we are representing Hope. Please remember to wear your badge every time you volunteer. Emergency Contact InformationPlease contact your Volunteer Specialist to update your emergency contact information. Correct records help keep your loved ones informed in the rare event of an emergency or accident.
