Dear Friends,
The first months of 2010 have been filled with encouraging developments. We've seen a 49% increase in families attending our bi-monthly Adoption Information Meetings. We hosted our largest and most successful fundraising luncheon. And, we have placed 33% more siblings together in Amara adoptive homes compared to this time last year. It's so gratifying to see Amara families and our community respond to children who need a permanent loving family.
I hope you're enjoying a wonderful and relaxing summer. There are so many great things about this time of year, including family time, vacations and carefree play. Thank you for helping provide memorable summers for the children we serve.

| Twin Sisters Find Forever Family | |
Adopting a child is a monumental step in parents' lives. Imagine the leap required when adopting two siblings at once. Imagine being childless one day and 24 hours later, your home is filled with the wonder and chaos of two children; perhaps even identical twins!

Kathleen and Gordon took this leap when they opened their home and hearts to two girls in need of a forever family, Hannah and Hailey. And they quickly witnessed the benefit of keeping siblings together. "Even in their early days with us, we saw how they took comfort in each other's presence and how each felt more secure when the other was close by," says Kathleen.
"Adopting children from foster care was a win-win situation," Gordon says. "We achieved our dream of having children and the girls got a permanent and loving family." |

"Thank you, Amara, for completing our family and helping other families become whole. Your work forever changes the lives of all you touch," says Heather who, with husband Phil, adopted sisters, age 2 and 3, in April 2010.

In celebration of this exciting milestone, Heather and Phil invited their friends to donate to Amara. "Our family could not have found our girls without Amara," continues Heather. "Every person we worked with at Amara was kind, supportive and always there for us. We wanted to give back. Having our friends and family donate to Amara in honor of our girls' adoption seemed a perfect fit." We at Amara feel honored to receive gifts in recognition of many milestones, from adoptions to birthdays, and from births to weddings.
