 Rum

Laphroaig Quarter Cask

$47.99

Matured in small barrels and never chill filtered, Quarter Cask was created to emulate the style of the Laphroaig Whisky produced in the early 19th century. On the nose, this unique Scotch displays peat with a hint of coconut cream when water is added. The additional oak influence from the quarter casks has created a soft sweetness and velvety feel accompanying the intense peatyness so unique to this Islay distiller. The finish is very long and alternates between the wood sweetness, the classic phenolic "peat reek," and a creamy yet zesty orange note.

Laphroaig Triple Wood

$49.99

94 Points - Whisky Advocate

Produced once a year in very small batches, Laphroaig "Triple Wood" is a limited edition release which has been matured in three types of casks. The spirit is first matured for 5 - 13 years in Maker's Mark ex-bourbon barrels, then transferred into small 19th century-style quarter casks for the second maturation. After aging in these casks for 9 months, the whisky is transferred into specially selected Oloroso sherry casks for their final maturation, which is split into two parts - the whisky spends 9 months in first fill sherry butts and then 21 - 24 months in refill sherry butts. This extensive aging has imparted remarkable flavor and texture to the whisky, creating a truly unique expression of Laphroaig. To preserve the intricate balance of flavors, "Triple Wood" has not been chill-filtered.

On the nose Laphroaig "Triple Wood" offers sweet aromas of raisin, apricot, walnut and vanilla embedded in a bold note of earthy peat smoke. The  rich, full bodied palate opens with an initial burst of peat smoke, but is softened by a suggestion of sherry sweetness, along with flavors of vanilla, citrus fruit and peppery spice. The long, dry finish offers smooth notes of caramel accented by a hint of salted cashew.

 Rum

Aberlour 12 Year

$35.99

Aberlour 12 is pleasantly sweet, spicy, and fruit-forward. Rich notes of tangerine, apple, caramel, and nutty toffee are pronounced on both the nose and palate. These sweet flavors are beautifully complemented by underlying notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and dark chocolate. The spicy finish displays lingering notes of pepper and oak resin.

Aberlour A'Bunada

$64.99

(96-100) Points - Wine Enthusiast

Aberlour a'bunadh is matured in Spanish oak Oloroso Sherry casks, the rarest and most precious casks used for maturation. Bottled at cask strength, a'bunadh has slightly smoky aromas laced with red apples. Since it is bottled without the use of chill-filtering methods, a richer mouth feel and flavor complexity is achieved. Buttery and creamy on the palate, intense fruit flavors blend beautifully with chocolate and orange notes. The warming finish is slightly peaty with hints of honey and spice. To get the most out of your Scotch, it is recommended to add a dash of water to fully release the complex aromas and flavors.

 Rum

Glenlivet 18 year

$79.99

A very special Glenlivet. The bouquet is remarkably flowery, clean and soft. The taste is light-bodied with a delicate balance between sweetness and malty dryness. Flowery, peachy, notes of vanilla with a restrained, long gently warming finish. 90-95 points and Highly Recommended, Wine Enthusiast: "Lovely, expansive bouquet includes scents of malted barley, baking spice, hearty spirit, toasted marshmallow, honeysuckle, fresh honey and dried citrus peel. Palate entry is firmly structured, moderately grainy sweet and features integrated flavors of honey wheat toast, dried apricot and wood resin; mid-palate is slightly sweet, keenly resiny, grainy, toffee-like and tight.

Glenlivet Nadurra 16 year

$61.99

90 Points - Malt Advocate

Nadurra, meaning "Natural" in Gaelic, is bottled at cask strength and is non-chillfiltered to preserve its natural flavors and to add more body and texture. After 16 years in first-fill American oak casks, Nadurra displays a fresh medley of floral and sweet spice aromas, enhanced by hints of toasted oak. On the palate, gentle notes of sweet fruit and honey are balanced by hints of ginger and hazelnut on the dry, oak finish.

 Rum

Auchentoshan Classic

$34.99

A great deal in bargain single malt. The Auchentoschen stands out in the fact that it's triple distilled, and therefore a lighter and more gentle dram, in the tradition of the Lowland malts. This is smooth, gentle, with subtle sweetness, and honey notes on the palate. A great sipper for an afternoon, or to initiate the new whisky drinker into the fold.

Auchentoshan Three Wood  $69.99

Auchentoshan Three Wood is a triple-distilled malt matured in bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. These casks impart a great deal of complexity and depth to this nuanced whisky; the nose and palate express dried dark fruit, caramel, roasted nuts, and cocoa, while the finish introduces a citrus note. Unlike many delicate Lowland malts, this spirit boasts satisfying heft and weight, making it an unexpected treat.

Rum

Bowmore Darkest 15 year

$79.99

96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "CLASSIC / Highest Recommendation. The opening inhalation offers deep aromas of nutmeg, oloroso Sherry, dark toffee and black pepper; further aeration stirs up thrilling scents of chocolate- covered cherries, tobacco smoke, sea brine, paraffin, praline and cedar box-a textbook Islay/sherry perfume. Palate entry is winey, concentrated and stunningly Sherry-like; at midpalate the taste profile expands to include dark honey, butterscotch, old oak, vanilla extract and cocoa bean. Concludes delicately and as sweet as honey. If you want a hint of what the legendary but no longer available Black Bowmore 1964 was like, pick up a bottle of Darkest.

Bowmore Legend

Regularly $36.99 ON SALE $29.99

Bowmore Legend is a single malt Scotch Whisky from Islay's oldest distillery. Legend is the entry-level whisky in the Bowmore lineup, a range known for its peaty, smoky malts.  Bowmore Legend is a youthful whisky from nose to finish. Let it sit in the glass awhile, and you'll find stronger notes of peat and citrus, but overall, this is very straightforward stuff and a very drinkable and an easy-going introduction to Islay whiskies.

 Rum

Dalmore 12 year

$46.99

The Dalmore malts are not sweet, peaty, or soft. They are powerful, masculine drams distilled by a pot still with a special flat head to help add a more robust flavor. The 12 year is a medium to full-bodied smooth malt, golden in color. Half the blend is aged in sherry and the other half in bourbon. The nose is intense with sherry overtones and dried fruit. The taste is complex with touches of wood and a long, lingering finish with spicy notes. A fantastic whisky.

Dalmore 15 year

$79.99

Double Gold Medal -San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2009

A rich and aromatic heart full of dried spices, cloves, cinnamon and ginger with a concentrated citrus mouth-feel to tantalise your tongue and an abundant aftertaste of spice to reward the palate.

Once combined, the liquid is returned to the upstanding sherry butts for a further six months, delivering an enhanced, intense taste experience with a sweet finish. Elegant and refined with hints of citrus and autumn fruits on the nose. Marmalade and Christmas cake tantalize the palate with subtle hints of roasted coffee and chocolate. This is followed with ripe oranges and lemon peel, giving delicate, zesty top notes.

Dalmore 18 year

$119.99

Dalmore King Alexander

$199.00

To make this Dalmore King Alexander III, Master Distiller Richard Paterson has selected a range of differently-aged malts matured in a mixture of French wine casks, Madeira drums, Sherry butts, Marsala barrels, Port pipes and Bourbon barrels from Kentucky. A remarkable feat of blending.   The nose presents a complex blend of almonds, hedgerow berries, plums, brittle toffee and a faint whiff of treacle.
