Dear Perspectives Friend,
Please join me, our Founders and Principals as we celebrate our students' success at our annual College for Certain Benefit on March 31, 2011 at the Westin River North Hotel at 5:30 p.m. Our benefit is generously sponsored by Ernst & Young, The Boeing Company, Loop Capital Markets and Crain's Chicago Business. Once again, the highlight of this event will be our students' remarkable stories, as told by several of our 2011 graduates!
To date, 62 percent of our 2011 graduating seniors have already been accepted to college, earning more than $2,200,000 in academic scholarships! These include a full four-year Posse Scholarship for King Robinson to attend Pomona College and a four-year scholarship to the University of Kentucky for Anthony Davis. This year, the first full four-year scholarship to Northwestern University ever earned by a Perspectives student was achieved by Stephanie Caldwell, who grew her ACT score by a remarkable seven points during her four years at Perspectives.
Join us March 31st to help us change one young life at a time though quality education by sponsoring a table, purchasing tickets, or by buying a raffle ticket to win $25,000 or a 2011 BMW! Call 312.604-2190 to make your purchase.
I look forward to seeing you that evening.

Perspectives High School of Technology's Rontrez Stone has been accepted to two prestigious aerospace engineering programs, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the Aviation Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This straight A math student, who is also taking AP Calculus, first discovered his love of aeronautical engineering during an 8th grade field trip to Space Camp. He pursued his interest by participating in Project SYNCERE, an after school program that helps students develop skills in scientific inquiry and prepares them for careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). When asked about his work ethic and what motivates him, Rontrez credits the A Disciplined LifeŠ principle, "only accept quality work from yourself" as what has driven him to be a dedicated and determined student.
Anthony Davis is an Award Finalist and Player in Three Prestigious Post-Season Games
One of Perspectives' own is among the country's most honored basketball players! Rodney D. Joslin Campus senior Anthony Davis is a finalist for both the Morgan Wootten and Naismith national high school player of the year awards. The honor roll student also will play in three prestigious post-season events: the McDonald's All American Game on March 30 in Chicago, the Nike Hoop Summit on April 9 in Portland, Oregon, and the Jordan Brand Classic on April 16 in Charlotte. For tickets to the McDonald's game please contact Athletic Director Vinay Mullick.

Perspectives at National Youth Summit
Perspectives Middle Academy 8th grade scholars, Richlyn Whittaker and Christian Johnson, had the opportunity to participate in the "Voices in Action: National Youth Summit" in Washington, D.C. Over 500 students from across the country were invited to contribute their opinion on how the United States can achieve President Obama's goal for us to be the world leader in college completion by 2020. Richlyn was the only middle school student to address the large crowd, serving on an Education Policy Panel with senior officials from the Department of Education! Special thank you to Ben Levine from Mikva Challenge for helping to prepare Richlyn and Christian for this amazing opportunity!
Honor Role Ceremony
On Friday, February 18th, the sixth through twelfth grade Rodney D. Joslin campus celebrated its Honor Role Scholars and also honored African Americans who have impacted their lives. Students made speeches, senior Ashley Wheatley performed a modern dance which she choreographed, and students participated in College Counselor Jonathan Daniels's trivia contest - answering questions about the contributions of African Americans throughout history.
