Perspectives Charter Schools Making a Difference in Auburn-Gresham
Students with Counselor
Carlos Nelson, Executive Director, Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation recently shared with us, "...With Perspectives Charter Schools-Calumet Campus' rigorous academic curriculum, ethical guiding principles - A Discipline Life© - and their partnership with our organization, students participate in community, health, and educational reform, such as Elev8. Students are part of the solution and help create a sustainable model of education reform."

This spring we will proudly graduate our first class of students from Perspectives Calumet. Perspectives projects that 100% of our Perspectives Calumet High School and High School of Technology seniors will graduate this year, and of those 95% are expected to attend college next fall. This is compared to the previous graduation rate in 2004 of 35% over five years, and where few graduates went to college. Nearly all the college attendees will be first generation college students. What an achievement for the students, families and staff of Perspectives Charter Schools!

College Acceptances and Scholarships Are Rolling in at Perspectives
College Acceptance letter
Every Perspectives Charter Schools student is required to apply to at least five colleges and for at least ten scholarships.  Currently over 70 percent of this year's senior class has been accepted to at least one college.  See a list of the colleges and universities to which our students have been accepted to date.

As of March, Perspectives Charter Schools students have earned over $1.5 million in scholarships. For a list of scholarships received so far, click here.

These are tremendous results and entrance into college is only the beginning. We are proud to note that 78 percent of Perspectives alumni from our Rodney D. Joslin campus are still in college after their third year.
