Academics

Extended lunch
Students begin extended lunch schedules August 28. On Tuesdays, Thursdays & some Wednesdays, they will not report to guided study. They may spend this time to study in groups, complete homework in designated quiet areas, or soak up some sunshine.

GCPS is hosting a College Fair for Students with Disabilities, October 13, 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Directions.

10th graders will take the PSAT at school on October 17. Register your 9th or 11th grader to take the PSAT online. There is a $15 charge for 9th & 11th grade students. Deadline October 7.

R U 4 Brookwood? We need your help. PTSA memberships & donations are down from last year. If you've been meaning to join or donate & haven't done so, please visit www.mypaymentsplus.com. The PTSA helps the school in so many ways. Some projects include the no-cost-to-students agenda book each student receives, the teacher appreciation lunch, breakfast for graduating seniors after graduation practice, student/teacher awards & so much more. The cost for these programs was $26k last year. Membership is only $6. All donations stay AT BROOKWOOD.

The Homecoming Dance is October 20, 8:00-11:30 p.m. in the Commons Area. The theme is "VIBE: a night of lights & sounds."  Tickets will be sold online this year. More.

Tonight is Brookwood Night @ Coolray Field, as the Gwinnett Braves take on the Syracuse Chiefs. Tailgating, elementary & middle school student parade, amusements & fireworks. Parade is at 6:00 p.m.; game time is 7:05 p.m. The high school drumline & chorus will perform.

 

First PTSA Meeting & Open House

September 10, 6:45 p.m. Walk your student's schedule, meet your student's teachers, & see presentations on what happens in class.
