The Brookwood Boys Soccer Team had a little downtime at the beach after a match in Savannah. The biggest game of the soccer season is TONIGHT.  Brookwood hosts Parkview in a battle for the region championship.

62 students have been chosen to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress on April 23. Student scores on this test will be combined to produce overall results for the nation. The results are released as The Nation's Report Card & help the President, Congress & educators improve our educational system.

Fine Arts

Anything Goes
Don't miss the madcap antics aboard an oceanliner voyage from New York to London. Anything Goes is the final production for theater this school year.

Musical Theater presents Anything Goes, April 26, 27 & 28, 7:00 p.m. in the BHS Theatre.  Tickets can be purchased during lunches or at the door.  $7 for adults, $6 for students & senior citizens.

Ultimate Frisbee
Good luck to the Brookwood Inferno, Ultimate Frisbee Team. They will compete in the High School Terminus Tournament at the Georgia Sports Park, April 21-22.

Brookwood's Relay for Life Team will be at The Avenue on Saturday from 12:00-4:00 p.m. selling ribbons, handmade bracelets & baked goods. There will be a Silent Auction & coupons that can be used at The Avenue stores. A BHS String Quartet will perform 1:00-2:00 p.m and the Jazz Band will perform 2:30-3:30 p.m.

 

There are lots of fun camps and classes available
for ages 5 through 95 through the Brookwood Community School. Check out this summer's offerings.

 

The PTSA will feed over 800 graduating seniors at the stadium on May 23 at 9:00 a.m., just before the seniors do a final run-through of the graduation ceremony.  You can help by volunteering to set-up, serve, clean-up or make a food or monetary donation. Contact Sheila Boales at 770-736-2807 or by email.

 

One more week to send in your pictures for the Senior Baccalaureate slideshow. Parents of seniors may send school-related photos of their seniors in .jpeg format to Beth by email before April 28.

 

All of us know a graduating senior who we watched grow up, who we've seen handle challenges, whom we admire.  The senior letter project is a way for us to let 'em know that we wish them well as they move on to pursue their dreams.  Letters of encouragement are due now.  More info.

 

Seniors may pick up caps & gowns April 27 during lunch.  Here are a few reminders about THE BIG NIGHT. The gates will not open until 6:00 p.m. on graduation night, May 23. The ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m. There is no reserved seating. No one is allowed on the field until after the ceremony. 100 handicap parking spots will be reserved in the student parking lot. Carpooling is recommended.  If you have a parking or seating question, you may call Jim Haralson at 770-277-4486.

 

Project Graduation (a lock-in on graduation night) is still looking for donations.  If you can help make this a fun-filled night for our graduating seniors, contact Tara Pannell or Rebecca Campbell

 

Now is the time to start thinking about chaperoning Project Graduation. Any non-senior parent is encouraged to volunteer.  Project Graduation will be at the Sugarloaf Parkway YMCA, May 23, 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.  Contact Tara or Rebecca for more info.

 

On-campus parking information for current juniors. Last two parking classes are May 11 & 15.  All parking applications are due May 23. No late applications will be taken.

 

Prom is May 12, 8:00-12:00 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church at 2500 Clairmont Road. Prom fees must be paid online at www.mypaymentsplus.com. Cost is $100 for any 11th or 12th grader who has not already paid prom fees. $25 date tickets (for dates who are not Brookwood juniors or seniors) go on sale April 24th in the Maroon Gym Lobby after school.  No date yet?  No worries.  Date tickets will also be on sale May 1 & 8 in the Commons Area after school.
