A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DEBBIE DEES
Greetings!
When you joined the PTSA, you may have gotten a list of member benefits. I want to tell you the other side of the story. Here's how the school benefits from your PTSA membership.
- The Brookwood PTSA provides volunteers to work every day in several school offices. We could not go without these additional, unpaid personnel.
- Our PTSA funds instructional programs that contribute to student success. These programs would not be possible without the monetary support of the PTSA.
- The PTSA hosts all sorts of events that directly benefit our staff and students. These extras make Brookwood really special.
- The community relationships we have developed with PTSA members are invaluable. These "big picture" people understand what the success of the school means to the community as a whole.
 |
Whether they admit it or not, students like to see the smiling faces of moms and dads at school. Beth Malanoski and Margie Yapp sell senior yard signs in the Commons during lunches. | Your student has outgrown the PTSA activities of primary school, but we still need your help to pull off some upcoming events. We don't have field day like they do in elementary school, but we will feed over 800 seniors breakfast at graduation practice. We won't have skate night, but we need someone to coordinate a Powerpoint of photos at Baccalaureate. There's no family bingo, but we will have Project Graduation, a safe all-night party, that will keep Broncos off the roads on graduation night.
I encourage you to connect with the BHS PTSA. Check the website for these and other volunteer opportunities and "like" Brookwood High School PTSA on Facebook for regular posts about immediate needs. Warmly, Debbie |
