Students continue to work with teachers on selecting courses for the 2012-13 school year.  Registration runs until February 24.  Parents will get an opportunity to review selections and offer input after Spring Break.

Fine Arts

Band concert 

Band concert, February 28 in the Commons Area.  Maroon/Gold Band performs at 6:00 p.m., Concert Band at 6:30 p.m., Symphonic at 7:00 p.m. and Symphonic Winds at 7:45 p.m.

 

Next up for Brookwood Theater, Dirty Works at the Crossroads, March 1, 2, & 3.

PTSA distributes chocolate to the staff
Thanks to the PTSA volunteers who baked, collected & distributed Valentine's Day goodies to the Brookwood staff.

New date for the Sadie Hawkins Dance is April 13 in the Commons Area.  Details coming soon.

 

Project Graduation, an all-night lock-in, provides a safe environment for Brookwood seniors to celebrate on graduation night.  Organizers are looking for donations, large and small, that can be used for door prizes.  Contact Tara Panell by email or 404-641-6521 or Rebecca Campbell by email or 770-982-0627.

Wrestling
February 16-18 State Tournament at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.  Eight Broncos are making a run at the State Title?  Directions, tickets, brackets and more online.

In the first game of the tournament, Senior Courtney Gardner added a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. 

 

Basketball

On February 17 at 4:00 p.m., the Girls play in the semi-finals of the 8AAAAA tourney.  They have secured their 7th state tourney berth in eight seasons.  According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, the team is peaking at just the right time

Charity Event for the Amanda Riley Foundation.  On March 10 at 3:00 p.m., the Tip-Off Club will host the Harlem Legends in a event for the Amanda Riley Foundation. The Legends, made up of former Harlem Globetrotters, will play a game against the Amanda Riley All-Stars, made up of our coaches, teachers & members of the community. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door & can be purchased from any member of the girls basketball team.
