ADOPT A ROW

YES! SPRING IS HERE and everything is in motion: the earth, the birds, the pollen...so are the WEEDS, these undesirable plants which are growing where they don't belong...in our raspberries, strawberries, blueberries... They are a constant threat to all of our beloved berries, perennials and annuals. Sadly, we lost many plants because they have been choked by the weeds.

cropsThis year we are implementing an 'ADOPT A ROW' program. You will be hearing a lot about it. We need your energy and passion for bringing healthy, local organic vegetables, fruits and herbs to your table. Why not ADOPT A ROW and make it happen: keep the weeds at bay. Take action and be proud of your row throughout the whole season. ADOPT A ROW!  We need your help NOW! This is an opportunity to be a steward of Pennypack and be connected to a vibrant community. The blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries need tender loving care NOW and are waiting for you.

This idea came from one of our faithful members, Suzanne, who is spearheading the project.  Take action and make it happen: let us know that you will ADOPT A ROW by emailing Katie at katie@pennypack.org.
Thanks to everyone who supported Team Pennypack in The Walk+Run Against Hunger!
Thanks to your generous support we will be able to provide subsidized shares for 12 families from West Philadelphia. That's twice as many families as last season!  The families who participate in the program will pick-up their shares at the Clark Park Farmers Market where, over the season, they will come to know our farmers. The demand for fresh, locally grown food has increased in the recent Jenn and Rainayears and Pennypack Farm is happy to be able to accommodate more families who might not otherwise have access to the quality and variety of food grown by Farmer Andy and his team.

For those of  you who are wondering how Raina and Jenn did on the run. . .
they kept a very respectable 8 minute pace, coming in just slightly behind Andy's 2011 time. Not bad ladies!!
