Representative
Tom Murt!
In 2009 State Representative, Tom Murt, sponsored PFEC for a $5,000 Community Development grant. Because of State budget issues, this grant was not processed until this fall. This grant, now received, helped pay for our walk-in cooler. The cooler keeps our veggies crisp and has allowed us to keep vegetables fresh overnight so that we can donate high quality produce to local food cupboards.
News for 2011!

Last Notes from Farmer FredFarmer Fred
December 1, 2010

Only a few days remain until Solstice, the time of the shortest day of the year, but as a farmer, my thoughts are already turned to the growing season that begins in a few short months. For me, the new season will begin several hundred miles north, because my wife's career is taking the two of us to the Boston, Massachusetts area. I'll be taking over as manager of a small farm with a very similar mix of growing and education, Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset, on Boston's South Shore.

I am deeply indebted to the people of Pennypack Farm for the fantastic opportunity you provided to me over the last three years as your Farm Manager. I am happy to say, though, that Pennypack Farm will continue strong without me under the very capable direction of Andy Andrews, with the support of the other talented staff members, the Board of Directors, and many volunteers.

The local food movement is an amazing force for positive change, for the health of people and the planet. It's happening all over this country, and indeed, all over the world. But one of the best places, for a farmer as well as an eater, is Pennypack Farm.
Pennypack Growing Fund Passes Half-Way Mark!
