New! Goat Cheese CSA
Yellow Springs Farm is happy to be partnering with Pennypack Farm to offer our artisanal goat cheeses. Whether you are just learning about cheese or you are already a dedicated cheese enthusiast, we invite you to join as a CSA member.
Yellow Springs Farm Native Plant Nursery, founded by Catherine and Al Renzi, is located in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. The farm and nursery consists of an historic farmhouse, dairy barn, a springhouse with pond on 8 acres of land. Yellow Springs Farm proudly offers both fresh and aged Artisanal Goat Cheeses. The most important part of the cheeses is the exceptionally good milk the goats produce. Click here for more details about the farm.
Click here for details about the Pennypack Farm and Yellow Springs Farm CSA partnership. Applications for the goat cheese CSA are available on the Yellow Springs Farm website.
Goat Cheese Sampling Fridays - March 26 & April 9 - 3pm-7pm Stop by and meet Al Renzi and get a taste of Yellow Springs Farm Goat Cheese

North Star Orchard Fruit Share
North Star Orchard will again be offering a fruit share for pick up at Pennypack Farm this summer. Last year over 100 families enjoyed fresh fruit through the summer.
Details available on the North Star Orchard website.
North Star Orchard was started in 1992 by Ike and Lisa Kerschner on a 4-acre piece of leased property. In 1996, seeing a need to expand plantings, they arranged to plant another leased 6-acre property. In 2006, they purchased a 10-acre parcel, on which they started growing vegetables in 2007 and planted a new orchard in 2008. The leased properties are in full production, and will continued to be farmed for a number of years while the new orchard grows.

Sustainability Movie Series The
Sustainability Movie Series is over and we went out with a bang! Our last
movie, Fresh, sold out the large theater at the Ambler Theater. All three movies raised awareness of
different sustainable topics - overfishing, bottle water and the importance of
fresh, locally grown food. Our sponsors and panelists greatly enhanced the
events and I would like to take a moment to thank them all. Many of you asked
for their websites so you could continue to follow up on these important issues
and also learn more about their organizations. Click on the name of the movie or sponsor to visit the website. We will be organizing future movie series, keep an eye out
for more information in Pennypack Pickings.
