The next campfire is scheduled for Monday, June 22 at 7:30pm. S'mores fixings are provided but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN S'MORES STICK. Come and join the fun!
Campfire Volunteers Needed The CSA Committee is looking for individuals or families who would like to organize one or more campfires. The duties are minimal! Make sure the fire pit is stocked with wood and lit; facilitate the s'mores making; and put out the fire and tidy up when it is over. Easy!

Tomato Canning with Christina Pirello Saturday, July 25 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Pennypack Farm & Education Center is very pleased to invite you to join Christina Pirello, the Emmy Award winning host of the national public television series, 'Christina Cooks,' for a lively tomato canning demonstration.
During this 2-hour class, tomato canning will be demystified and you will go home feeling excited and confident about canning your own summer harvest! Participants will have an opportunity to take home a can of tomatoes preserved during the program.
About Christina Pirello: Christina's relationship with food began at a young age, cooking with her mother and later, while she was living in Florida, working as a caterer, professional chef and pastry chef. But the real pivotal point in her life came at age 26, when after being diagnosed with terminal leukemia, she decided to forgo conventional medical therapies and turned to a nutritional approach - whole foods - and cured herself. The passion and commitment that made that happen is what makes her so good and inspirational at what she does.
For the last twenty years, Christina has been teaching whole foods cooking classes, and conducting lifestyle seminars and lecturing on the power of food in our lives nationwide, in a variety of settings... from natural food stores to corporate boardrooms. No lives are left unchanged when she leaves the room. Even if they think that she's nuts (but nice), they'll never think of food in the same way again...which is her goal.
In addition to teaching about whole foods, Christina is the author of the best-selling cookbook, 'Cooking the Whole Foods Way,' as well as several other cook books. She has been featured consistently in national newspapers and magazines, as well as on television and radio. She is on the faculty of Drexel University, where she serves as a professor of culinary arts. And, most recently, Christina has founded the non-profit organization, 'The Christina Pirello Health Education Initiative,' dedicated to changing the health of our children through school programs, community outreach, changing school lunches and education about health and fitness. Go to www.christinapirello.org for more information.
Pre-registration is required by July 10. Fee: $30.00/person due at time of registration.

Local Foods Market - Product List Every week you will see here a complete list of products available in the local foods market. Bring your appetite and cash or checks at your weekly pick-up. Prices can vary. Click on a suppliers name to link to their website.
Your response to the Local Foods Market has been amazing! Products are flying off the shelves and I am just learning how to order so that we do not run low on your favorite items. Vendors are learning how to best supply us as well. Monday there was a mix-up with Metropolitan Bakery and Bobbi's Hummus changed delivery dates. We did run out of bison this week. Suddenly Pennypack Farm members got the taste for Bison! Rod put together a special order and we are now well stocked with ground and patties. Unfortunately we will be out of the popular Grillers for another week or so. I have been in touch with Countrytime Farm in Hamburg and when I get some more freezer space, we will be carrying ham slices, bacon, pork chops and tenderloins. Stay tuned for some fantastic new products!! Meanwhile, thank you for your enthusiastic support!
