Covewater
Santa Cruz is home to the first dedicated stand up paddleboard shop on the West Coast north of Santa Barbara. The sport of stand up paddling is rapidly growing around the world and Santa Cruz locals Scott and Leslie Ruble wanted to create a space to meet the needs of the local SUP community. Our client, Covewater Paddle Surf celebrated its grand opening in April. The shop provides stand up paddleboard (SUP) equipment, accessories, classes and rentals for everyone from experienced paddlers to novices looking to try the sport for the first time. The shop is located at 726 Water Street in Santa Cruz or check them out online at www.covewater.com.

Another championship for Santa Cruz High Grad!

Swift
Austin Swift, son of Lighthouse Bank clients John Swift and Deidre Hamilton, led his Cal Poly-Pomona basketball team to the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championship.  The 65-53 victory over Indiana [Pa.] was Cal Poly-Pomona's first national title. Swift, a 6'5" Senior, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. A graduate of Santa Cruz High, Swift also led his Cardinal teammates to the State Division III Championship in 2005.

Santa Cruz Rehearsal Studios

Our client, Santa Cruz Rehearsal Studios, was recently designated as "Best New Musician's Friend" in the annual Good Times critics' picks. Business owners Paul and Jennifer Gallacher wanted to provide a creative and quality sound proof environment for practicing musicians. Located at 118 Coral Street, SCRS offers four rehearsal spaces available for rent by the hour and are fully equipped with the gear necessary for a productive rehearsal. Whether a band is trying to perfect their live show, write new material or practice for an upcoming recording session, Santa Cruz Rehearsal Studios provides the space and equipment every musician needs to create.  www.santacruzrehearsalstudios.com.
Rotary Track
For the past 13 years Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary has raised funds for a $1.5 Million dollar major construction project for the benefit of local youth athletics. On Sunday, May 23, 2010, that goal was realized with the ribbon cutting of the new "Rotary Memorial Track and Field" at Santa Cruz High School. Lighthouse Bank Director Bruce McPherson assisted Lighthouse employee Jon Sisk and Bank organizer Ken Whiting in christening the track. Not only was it an opportunity to celebrate the completion of construction, but all Santa Cruz County Rotary Clubs joined the festivities in "A Walk for Humanity", not only raising money, but hunger awareness in our area.  All funds raised benefited Second Harvest Food Bank. The walk-a-thon raised enough funds to supply 10,000 meals to those in need.
