SWANCC Happenings in July

SWANCC provides member residents with a variety of ways to recycle and reduce waste.

Special Programs and Events
Composting Demonstration Workshops
Compost WorkshopIn collaboration with University of Illinois Extension Master Composter and Arlington Heights resident, Diane Bolash, SWANCC has developed a composting demonstration system. Educators and residents can learn the science behind mixing yard waste, such as leaves, grass and small twigs, with acceptable food scraps, to make a nutrient-rich soil amendment for lawns, gardens, flowers and plants.

The next workshop will be held outdoors at SWANCC's Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N. River Road, on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required. To register, send an email to mary@swancc.org with the workshop date, community you live in and a cell phone number. A follow up confirmation will be sent to you with additional information and directions. See swancc.org for additional workshops this summer.
