SWANCC Elist for Educators
Time for an End-of-Year Clean-Out
Think Before You Throw Anything Away!

As school days draw to a close, what do you do with all of those clothes and miscellaneous supplies that have collected in the office, hallways, gyms and lockers during the year? SWANCC encourages all schools to conduct a school-wide clean-out activity to collect and separate items that are in good condition but are no longer wanted, for reuse.

SWANCC provides the How to Conduct a Locker-Desk Clean-Out Activity to assist in the process. Download this resource at swancc.org.

Once the items are ready to give away, look within the school building for donation opportunities. Are there families in need that could use some of the clothing items? Are there teachers that would like to have some of the school supplies? Are there any items to be given to a local food pantry?
