SWANCC-area residents are invited to attend SWANCC's annual Glenview Transfer Station (GTS) Open House this Saturday, June 5, 2010, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

Visitors will view garbage being processed at the transfer station from an enclosed gallery, learn how materials are handled on garbage pickup day and can explore educational exhibits. A compressed natural gas (CNG) recycling truck will be on display. Lawn games will be provided, weather permitting. Reused paper crafts will be supplied. Light refreshments will be served.

Residents are encouraged to bring American flags, eyeglasses, hearing aids and mercury-containing thermometers for recycling. Please be sure to bring mercury thermometers in a sealed plastic bag.
