Trashy Fashion Show Part IV
To raise awareness for America Recycles Day, nationally observed on November 15, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) coordinates the Trashy Fashion Show to showcase designs created by students and residents from found materials or items that are generally thrown away.
This community-based project encourages individuals of any age or small group that possess creative abilities to attend one of the scheduled informational meetings to learn more about this exciting program initiative. You do not need to excel in sewing, you just need to be creative!
Designers must live in one of SWANCC's member communities to participate and attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Two meetings will be held at SWANCC's office in Glenview (2700 Patriot Blvd) from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and Thursday, April 29, 2010. Attendees will receive program history, criteria and design inspirations. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required and space is limited.
To sign up, visit swancc.org or call (847) 724-9205 ext. 9.
Last November, 60 designers contributed 40 outfits to SWANCC's Trashy Fashion Show. To view the show, visit swancc.org. |
