Hole In One Sponsor Hamer Toyota
Hamer Toyota is pleased
to be the Hole in One Sponsor for the LAF Golf Classic for their second year! Lee Hamer always had great vision, but nothing topped his decision in 1965 to choose Toyota as his flagship franchise. Beginning in 1939, Lee's small dealership had been selling everything from European imports to Packards and Hudsons. So it was a bold move to focus exclusively on, then, little-known Toyota. In doing so, Hamer became the first exclusive Toyota dealership in Southern California, America's largest automobile market.
Now, 44 years later, the Hamer team is still strong and the number one selling Toyota dealer in its market area and beyond. Toyota has 9 models in their line getting 30 or more miles per gallon, including the legendary Hybrid Prius.
Hamer's 14th Annual Lee Hamer Memorial Golf Classic, is coming up on Monday, May 18th at Valencia Country Club and, once again, they will raise a lot of money to support local charities. Every dollar raised by the tournament is given back to the community. Many lives are touched by Hamer Toyota's generosity, with a tradition of giving that spans many years.
Zain Haroon, General Sales Manager, invites you to "Come in and see one of my Sales Managers and I guarantee you one of the most pleasurable and pressure-free car buying experiences you have ever had! We are here to exceed your expectations!"
Located at 11041 Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills where the 5, 405 and 118 freeways meet. Call us at 818-365-9621 or check out our interactive website at www.hamertoyota.com. |
 HOL Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteers are seldom paid; not because they are worthless, but because they are PRICELESS!
--author unknown We would like to introduce you to Lola Semaan...
Lola
Semaan was born in Sidon, Lebanon and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of four
with her family. She grew up in the
Downey/Bellflower area and currently resides in the City of Orange. She has four brothers and one sister. She works
as a Medical Dosimetrist in the Radiation Oncology Department at the
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and enjoys activities such as dancing, rollerblading,
skiing, river rafting, and cooking (she has an addiction to cook books with
beautiful pictures in them). Lola also LOVES to spend time with her 9 nieces
and nephews (who are the cutest kids on earth!).
She is currently the President-Elect for the
LA Cedars Rotary Club for the years 2010-2011 and enjoys working with this
group to help the local community and Lebanon.
Lola came across the House of Lebanon through an email her sister sent and
was excited to get involved when she heard they needed help at last year's Inaugural LAF Golf Classic. Lola felt drawn
to help this organization because of its mission and her pride of being Lebanese. "As a volunteer, it seems even the little
things you do seem like big things to the people you are helping" Lola says. Personally she feels a sense of fulfillment
when she has completed a task which has helped in some small way.
We are thrilled that Lola will be helping us again at the 2nd annual LAF Golf Classic.

Jeanice wa s one of the
first members to join the House of Lebanon Artist group, and along with her
fellow artists, has been instrumental in creating more awareness to the
community of the diverse talents of it's many members. "I enjoy being a
part of this group and being able to bond with artists who share the same
Middle Eastern cultural values I was raised with."
She has worked with the
medium of glass for the past ten years, has had several exhibitions, was
commissioned by Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank to do a large glass
sculpture, and can most recently be seen along with some of her fellow House of
Lebanon artists in the book by Fayeq S. Owens "The Encyclopedia of Arab
American Artists".
"I'm passionate
about glass and the challenges it gives me to create a good sh ape, a strong
design composition and to fire a piece in the kiln without it bubbling or
cracking." Jeanice uses her family's original surname Mina and her
initials J.D. to mark her work. You can see more of her work on her web site
