Girls Play with Parents on Couch
February 2011 FaithBridge News
Seeking God's comfort, while comforting others.

Providing comfort is one of those unique qualities of healthy Christian families. Paul writes in his second letter to the Corinthians "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God" (2 Corinthians 1:3, NIV).

Comfort is a spiritual blessing. As we rely on God for comfort, we achieve peace and strength. God's gift of comfort is not intended solely for our own private consumption. God's all-sufficient power and love comforts us so that we may increase our service to others.

We realize parenting is difficult and parenting someone else's children can be even more challenging. At FaithBridge, our aim is to ensure that families never feel like they're fostering alone. Our staff, consultants and church partners serve you, so you can better serve children and families.

Fostering is never easy, but the "God of all comfort" fills us with hope. May we each find true comfort as we continue the journey of foster care ministry in 2011.

For the least, the last and the lost...

Help us spread the word!

FaithBridge needs your help finding volunteers and foster families who would be interested in taking teenagers and sibling groups. Please spread the word about our upcoming orientation on Sunday, March 13 at Perimeter Church. Our introductory information session will be offered at two available times:

Our goal is to reach a combined attendance of 100+. With your help, we can achieve this!

If you know anyone who has been considering fostering, bring them along. Tell your family and friends, Sunday school class and members of your Bible study. Invite someone you know and come together for this 90-minute informative session. Even if you have attended orientation before, come to this one. There is new news to share.

Show appreciation and make a nomination!

In honor of Volunteer Recognition Day on April 20, FaithBridge would like to acknowledge individuals who have dedicated themselves to supporting our foster families and Communities of Care.

Please nominate outstanding Community of Care Volunteers. Nominations should include the volunteer's name, contact information and a brief narrative describing the support provided as well as how they demonstrated servanthood for your family.

All entries must be submitted by Friday, March 18, 2011 in order to be eligible. Nominate as many volunteers as you would like. Submissions will be reviewed and volunteers will be selected and honored in the month of April for their commitment to our foster care ministry. Click here to show your gratitude and nominate a volunteer today!
