FaithBridge Foster Care May Newsletter

Greetings!

Next to the holiday season, I think early summer is one of the busiest times of the year. The school year is over and kids are eager to be entertained. Then there are graduation parties and cookouts to attend and vacations to embark upon. Before you know it, it's Labor Day and you're wondering where the summer went.

But as you enjoy the long days of summer, I hope you also remember the children in need among us. Many foster children don't have access to those activities we take for granted, which is why we have established a fund that provides academic and enrichment scholarships. With these scholarships, children can attend a variety of different camps related to sports, music, art and much more. Not only does this provide an unforgettable experience for the children, but it gives the foster mothers a much needed break.

These scholarships are funded by the proceeds from our recent golf tournament and donations from people like you. Any gift you can offer for this cause is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for all you do for FaithBridge Foster Care. Have a happy and safe summer.

God bless,
Bill R. Hancock

2010 Golf Tournament a success
On June 8, 2010 over 50 golfers took to the fairway at BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton Georgia for the 3rd Annual Foster Care Charity Golf Classic. While rain threatened early on, it ended up being a great day for golf. We even had a hole in one. Congratulations to Murry Weaver on that accomplishment.

Congratulations to our top three teams:

First Place: Steve Khan, Ryan Khan, Daniel Khan and Rob Schmidt
Second Place: Steve Crain, Ron Flowers, Scott Fankhouser and Van Williams
Third Place: Charlie Duncan, Bob Bacon, David Higgins and Ralph Stokes.

A calling to foster teenagers
As any parent of a teenager understands, the adolescent years can be a whirlwind as our children try to figure out who they are in this world. Understandably, these years can be especially difficult for foster children, who have already experienced so much emotional turmoil in their lives.

One special FaithBridge foster family welcomes the unique joys and challenges that teenagers bring to a home and have specifically requested to be placed with them. Read the Vana's full story.
FaithBridge welcomes Chris Hayes
