Big White Van
I've always avoided white vehicles, but when the old "Stowe" van died without the courtesy of advance notice, we had a choice of white or white. So now we have green, red, silver and white - the national colors of what country?

TOP TEN TIPS of BROCHURE DESIGN
Need
some advice on brochure design? Do you want information that the
best graphic artists and ad agencies don't know? The first thing to
remember in there is no subtlety in brochure design. The bigger and
bolder your title the better. Your brochure will not be framed and
hung on a wall. Put a mock up in a brochure display and see how it
holds up. For nine more invaluable tips click here.

How Many Brochures Do I Need?
That is the second most asked question I hear (first is how much $). How I wish there was a simple answer. Wouldn't it be nice if you could take your address number, multiply by years in business and divide by amount of employees?
Unfortunately, those aren't the factors that you need to consider. More important are requested regions, thickness of your brochures, popularity of your business, attractiveness of your brochure and if the staff where our display is located is promoting your business.
Rough estimates of quantities needed, initial delivery, resupply numbers, graphs, charts and multipliers await you at our website. Click Here.

Not Just Hotels & Motels

Greetings!
Can you believe it? An emailed newsletter from PP&D Brochure Distribution. Seems like just yesterday I was rubbing transfer-lettered titles to graph paper, inserting waxed typeset copy, and handwriting addresses for a newsletter. I was also working out of my garage, bedroom, and an orange Datsun B210. 1981 was a long time ago. But we are all still so young! More memories click here.
But I digress. A newsletter should be full of news, and we've got so much to tell. I'm very excited to share what's new at PP&D and in the world of brochure distribution. You can read about our new locations, new service reps, new vans, new customers and much, much, more!
For many of our current and highly valued customers, summer contract proposals should be heading your way in January. Please let me know if you need them sooner or have any new ideas for 2009.
As always, I welcome any feedback, questions, comments or praise. You can contact me at Bill@ppdbrochure.com or for a real voice 802-862-4366

Adding New Brochure Displays to Serve You Better
I've been struggling for over twenty years with the brochure display at Bolton's Black Bear Inn. It was made with pockets 1/8 " too skinny and 1/2 too short. To say it was frustrating to squeeze brochures into that rack would be an understatement. But no more! We have replaced that rack with a new custom made PP&D display. It now holds over seventy brochures and six different magazines. They fit right and it is beautiful!
On Route 15 in Cambridge, Brown and Jenkins Coffee Rosters have
moved across from Boyden Valley Winery and you will find a new PP&D display. On the Green in Quechee we have a new display play at Downer's Mill Deli. To complement our brochure display at the Courtyard by Marriott Burlington Harbor we've added some new features. This high traffic location now has a new prototype map display and a matching magazine rack.
Speaking of magazines, check out our custom display at the South Burling- ton Creative Habitat.
It holds twenty different magazines! In Stowe we've got a cool new display in the Jackson Arena Ice Rink. On the Barre-Montpelier Road, Budget Car Rental
and Peter Glen Ski Shop are now sporting PP&D displays. In NH,
we've added a display to the Loch Lyme Lodge and in NY we are now at
the Ausable Forks Store.
Please
contact me if you know somewhere that could use a PP&D Brochure
Display. We will do our best to install one quickly and add it to our
routes.

Who Was That Brochure Distributor?
Here at PP&D, we've gotten rid of all our drivers (don't worry, in name only). Because they do so much more than drive - we now have a full crew of "Service Reps". With over 43 years of combined (not counting me) experience, our service reps fill, straighten and remove old brochures from displays. They also answer a wide variety of questions from visitors and handle special requests from front desk staff. While serving as our customer relation's liaisons, they are also our business development team, as they watch for new display locations to add to our ever expanding list.
Joining Frank Davison, Denise Bergman, Jerry Newton and Pat Blow(click here to connect a face to the names) is James Plantier. Our newest service rep lives in Jeffersonville and will be keeping
our Rt.15- Smugs route up to speed, as well as many other routes. James
has a great eye for finding a brochures in a display, making sure the
new ones are there and removing all violators. "I really enjoy the
work. My friends think I have an easy job, but they don't see how tired
I am at the end of the day."

Professional Brochure Distributors Annual Conference In Paris and Belgium
In October I attended The International Association of Professional Brochure Distributors Annual Conference in Paris and Antwerp, Belgium (tough locations, but I'm vice-president and had to go). Professionally it is such a pleasure speaking with people in my industry from all around the world. So much to see, so much to learn. This year we toured the offices and warehouses of Aeolus Productions and France Brochure System. It was great to see how warehouses and vans are organized and how proud everyone is of their work. In meetings we discussed how pocket brochures, smart cell phones and electronic kiosks fit into our industry. Another hot topic is how brochures can be green. The Association just kicked off a gorgeous new website, which links to over thirty members (from ten countries) and to impressive research on the successful results of brochure distribution. Click here for the Association Website.
