SFC in Budapest!

Greetings!
SuzNewProfile
I "hit the ground running" upon my return to France at the beginning of July. I worshiped  at The Bridge International Church and enjoyed meeting everyone after the service on Sunday, July 10, at the church picnic in Impressionists Park. Then, I visited the TOP Mission offices and met up with the team for an update. Soon, I was on my way to Montpellier on July 15 to meet with the Guernsey Group. Then, I had a quick visit with my friend, Berthe as I accompanied her back by car to Chambery. I was on the TGV (high-speed train) to Paris on Monday, July 25, and on Wednesday, July 27, I boarded a plane for Budapest, Hungary for IMPACT Now and SFC Connect 2011. Enjoy the brief recaps of each one of my encounters along with photos and even a video of a children's choir in Budapest.

The Bridge International Church to the west of Paris is my church home as I begin my fourth term as a missionary to France. The Bridge celebrated its one-year anniversary in March 2011. Enjoy the video.

The Bridge One-Year Anniversary

I am getting acquainted with everyone and excited about the opportunities to serve. Of course, reaching university students is a priority on my heart and a major university campus is nearby, Paris West University Nanterre.

Shoulder-to-Shoulder Initiative
Shoulder to Shoulder Team

The Guernsey Group

Montpellier greeted us with unseasonably cool weather for July. We met to take our project to the next level and hammer out a plan for the edification of missionary teams. Jim and Judy DeVries (seated bottom right in the photo) particularly helped steer the project discussion along. Judy shared Zephaniah 3:9 - to serve the Lord shoulder to shoulder - as  inspiration for a name for our initiative. We adopted it.

Shoulder to Shoulder

Our objective is to communicate a Biblical view on singleness, marriage, and sexuality. Our principal resources are Barry Danylak's book, Redeeming Singleness and video materials developed from our consultations in Guernsey available at One Another Ministries.

Aigues-Mortes

Aigues-Mortes

We made a visit in the Cevennes to The Desert Museum, dedicated to the history of the Camisards and the Huguenots. We also toured the medieval city, Aigues-Mortes, once used as a major port and still an area where salt is produced.
Montpellier

Montpellier

Our mission would not have been complete had we not visited Montpellier and enjoyed a meal together at a restaurant in the city center. We strolled down the wide walkways embellished by flower beds, shade trees, and an occasional fountain featuring a mythological or historical figure. We look forward to all that the Lord has planned for mission teams in Europe and beyond.
IMPACT NOW in Budapest
Impact Now

Heroes' Square in Budapest.

The Pentecostal European Fellowship held its Missions Convention in Budapest, Hungary from July 27-30. Representatives from all over Europe and guests from around the world gathered together at the Budapest University Campus in Gödöllö. We had three full days of worship, inspiring speakers, very challenging workshops, and evangelistic outreach to the city of Budapest. Youth, university students, children, and adults joined together to make an impact.

The Jiipii Children's choir from Finland was such a blessing. Enjoy one of the songs they shared in the City Park of Budapest during an evangelistic outreach.

Coaching Pod

Coaching Pod learning teamwork.

Students for Christ (SFC) held its annual university training at Budapest University in Gödöllö from July 31 - August 6 just after the Pentecostal European Fellowship  IMPACT Now Missions Conference. Here we are in our coaching pod after we finished our team two-legged race! Try to walk together as a team of seven with one of your legs tied to a team member's leg! It takes lots of effort and coordination. Just what we were learning as we met together to plan for our SFC groups at the beginning of another academic year.

Enjoy the photos!

Perseverant student rewarded!

It's a joy to be back in Europe and particularly in France where God has called me. Thank you again for your prayers and support. Together we are going to experience exploits for the Lord!

Sincerely,
