Greetings!

I welcomed Nathalie Almont from France for the month of May. Nathalie is a missionary of Top Mission, the ministry with which I partner in France for the development of Jesus.net. She took her vacation days to visit this area of the USA for the first time. She accompanied me on visits to churches, and we toured in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and of course, our capitol, Washington, D.C.

Follow my continued itineration journey during the beautiful month of May!

Potomac District Council
Suzanne and Nathalie
This year the Potomac District Council was held May 1-3, 2011 at Christ Chapel in Woodbridge, VA, with the theme, Together We Can. You can listen to the sermons and view photos of the District Council on this link Together We Can.
Sunday evening began with intercession in the chapel and then, Superintendent Larry Hickey's message. Monday morning, the business session was accomplished efficiently and the Church Planting luncheon was a special treat. Monday evening, we enjoyed the Missions Celebration service with a reception and our missions displays afterward. Tuesday morning highlighted the Memorial service, and after a short break, the five presentations of the district strategy were unfolded. Nathalie and I enjoyed the Chick, Chat, and Chocolate luncheon with the women. Tuesday evening, former superintendent Bob Rhoden spoke at the Ordination service, which culminated the District Council.
It was a full three days of reconnecting with colleagues. What a delight to fellowship and share!

Sunday, May 8, Full Gospel Assembly in Prince Frederick, MD was the first church on my schedule. Colleagues Paul and Angie Trementozzi shared the service with me. Pastor Todd Marple met us for breakfast with members of the missions committee. What a great way to start the day!

Pastor Todd Marple enthusiastically introduced us to the Sunday School classes where we answered questions and inspired the children especially to follow the call of God into missionary service.

Here I am speaking to the congregation. It was Mother's Day, so Pastor Todd asked his wife, his mother, and Angie to come up on the platform. Angie prayed for all the moms. It was a service focusing on Missions in Europe. Paul and Angie, living in Spain, are area directors for Southern Europe and I serve in France. The energy and enthusiasm in the service was contagious. Thank you, Full Gospel Assembly for your heart for missions!

Decisions in real time

Christ Chapel Mountaintop in Haymarket, VA hosted their Missions Convention at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott on Friday, May 13. What a great evening it was! Missions Pastor Patricia Joscewicz did a fabulous job organizing the event. We began with appetizers in the room where all the missionaries had set up their displays. Church members moved from table to table, getting to know each one of us missionaries. Then, we proceeded to the dining room for a delicious meal and a well-orchestrated program from start to finish. Thank you, Christ Chapel Mountaintop for your partnership, support, and prayers!

Pastor Doug Seaman of First Assembly of God in Silver Spring, MD welcomed us warmly on Sunday, May 15th. We arrived early enough for Sunday School with time to set up the display and chat with people before the service. Many came to the display at the end of service, too. Two friends from Paris, now getting settled in Maryland, were at the church service. It certainly is a small world! Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious meal with members of the missions committee. Thank you First Assembly for your warm reception!

Once more I visited Cornerstone Assembly in Bowie, MD. This time it was at the invitation of Women Unlimited, the Church's Women's Ministry. Nathalie and I arrived Friday evening, May 20, welcomed by our hostess, Linda Kelly, my long-time friend. We enjoyed reminiscing over dinner.

Saturday morning, May 21, we headed to the church to gather with the ladies for a breakfast meeting, Mugs, Muffins, and Missions. Missionary Angie Trementozzi participated in the event with me, and Nathalie shared how God has guided her life. Several women signed up for Love Line, a way to support the Potomac District Missionaries with gifts on their special days. Women in Ministry at Bethel Assembly, Jessup, MD

Pastor Johnny Green and Alice Faye
Suzanne with Pastor Johnny and his wife Alice
Pastor Johnny Green featured women in ministry at Bethel Assembly's Missions convention on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22. Nita Edwards with Alive Global, Liz Danielsen with Spiritual Care Support Ministries, and I were the invited guest ministers. Saturday evening, we gathered together to taste international foods and meet church members. Nita, Liz, and I set up our displays and briefly shared our ministries.
On Sunday, we set up our displays in the church foyer. We had the opportunity to participate in one of the Sunday School classes, and then we proceeded into the church sanctuary for a dynamic missions service. Nita, Liz, and I spoke to the congregation one after the other. We were also blessed to hear from Judy Garrett, Area Representative for The Voice of the Martyrs.
After the church service, we had a scrumptious meal and encouraging fellowship with members of the mission's committee. It was such an honor and a joy to be with you at Bethel. We really did feel right at home.

Lunch with Bob, Joan and the Commonwealth Chapel Team

Sunday, May 29, we visited Commonwealth Chapel in Richmond, VA. Bob and Joan Rhoden were our host and hostess for the weekend. Bob is currently interim pastor. The church meets in a downtown movie theater, and throughout the academic year, reaches out to students at Virginia Commonwealth University VCU Chi Alpha. Here's a church dedicated to reaching the urban population! Thank you, Bob and Joan, and Commonwealth Chapel for the honor to be with you!

Fun Times and Touring

All throughout the month, as I followed my church visit schedule, we planned some fun times and touring for Nathalie. Here are some pictures of various excursions ... Harpers Ferry, WV; Washington, D.C. to tour the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Botanical Gardens, the National Museum of the American Indian, the National American History Museum, the Postal Museum, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, ... Blackwater Falls, WV; Mt. Vernon, VA; Annapolis, MD; the University of Richmond, the Richmond Capitol and more. I enjoyed revisiting so much of my American heritage and Nathalie, experiencing Americana first hand, took home lots of memories.

My itineration is quickly coming to a close. I will be departing for France on July 1. Thanks to your ready responses for commitments and generous offerings to support me for another term, I received notice of my final clearance to return to France ahead of schedule this time. God bless each church and each individual abundantly in every way for your faithfulness, generosity, and constant prayer. Together we can see revival come to France, even to the entire continent of Europe!

With a thankful heart,
