Birthday Celebration
A Mutual Birthday
My friend Berthe from Chambery and I share January 21st as our mutual birthday. This year we got together to celebrate and visited Valloire for the annual international snow sculpture contest. This was our second year in a row to visit Valloire on our birthday. Here is a picture of the winning sculpture by Canada. We took a cable car to get to the top of a ski slope in the French
alps. Here we are overlooking the ski station of Val Thorens. We had a
beautiful, clear day, and we could also see Mount Blanc in the distance. It's always refreshing to take a winter break and take in the fresh, clean mountain air.

SFC in Berlin
Students for Christ Prayer Weekend
I joined the Students for Christ leaders in Berlin at the end of January for prayer and planning. I arrived a day before the conference to visit Berlin for the first time. Here I am pictured in front of the Brandenburg Gate. We prayed for the students of the nations of Europe and their Students for Christ groups. We also celebrated John and Anita Koeshall's 30 years of service as the European leaders, and welcomed Blair and Dina Bonin into this role as the baton is passed on to them. The most important item on our agenda was the upcoming ENCOUNTER, the third glocal university student conference to be held in Budapest Hungary from July 31 to August 10, 2010. Here a link to the website ENCOUNTER

French Seminary Student
Marie-Claude Wolff
Meet Marie-Claude Wolff! She and I met at Trinity International Church in Paris. She has been working in social services but is now going to pursue preparation for God's call upon her life.
Last Wednesday, February 24, I accompanied Marie-Claude to the Theological Seminary in Vaux-sur-Seine, where she begins theological studies beginning in March. My Speed-the-Light vehicle was indispensable as I helped her move out of her apartment to her dorm room at the seminary. Please pray for Marie-Claude as she pursues God's calling upon her life.

Connaitre Dieu
Special Student Project
Sunday, February 21, here I am presenting Connaitre Dieu Special Student Project to one of our partner churches in Paris, St. Michael's Anglican Church. This was the 7 pm service which most of the university students attend. I challenged the students to reach out to their classmates by inviting them to visit the website and also to join the online counseling team. ConnaitreDieu.com On Tuesday evening, February 23, Nathalie Almont and I met with the Connaitre Dieu team of Clamart. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing during a delicious meal at the home of a couple who are team members. The newly appointed student delegate came to the meeting. Nathalie, who serves the delegates and their teams in their role as on-line counselors, answered their questions pertaining to counseling. I explained the Special Student Project more fully and encouraged the student delegate as the newest team member.
