Bernadette and Monica, the twin daughters of my high school friend Nancy, came to Paris for the first time ever.

On the first trip during their fall break at the end of October, Bernadette arrived with five classmates, all of them studying for a semester abroad in Florence. They enjoyed "Aunt Suzanne's Bed and Breakfast" although two of them had to sleep on foam matresses in sleeping bags.

On the second trip at the end of November, en route to the USA via Ireland, Bernadette and Claire returned to Paris this time with Monica. It sure was fun to be hostess to so many students. Besides, my friend Nancy was at ease knowing that her girls were staying with me. What a delight it is to serve university students!

The Christmas Market along the Champs Elysées in Paris with booths representing various nations gave me the holiday spirit early on this year. Several booths lined both sides of the spacious avenue. It was the perfect way for me to spend time on a Sunday afternoon between visits to two different churches.

That afternoon I bought some Christmas spicy teas. I have been enjoying them during this very cold and snowy season.

It was fun decorating my little Christmas tree while I listened to Christmas carols and sipped on spicy tea.

Meet David and Mimi, new friends I made this year. David is a pastor serving a local church in the Paris area. We met as I visited their church to introduce Connaitre Dieu for university students.

David and Mimi are serving in France sent by a church in Korea. They invited friends to a Korean style farewell dinner before they returned to Korea for their furlough.

Here is a scene of the recent snowfall we had in the Paris area. This is the view from my apartment. A winter wonderland!

My French language skills have been of service quite a bit this past quarter. Classmates from Continental Theological Seminary enlisted me to translate parts of their Master's dissertations from French to English. I have also been translating documents from French to English for Top Chretien. Translation work takes a lot of time and concentration, but what a reward to see the finished products!

Have a wonderful Christmas and may all God's riches in Christ Jesus be yours in 2010!

With love and appreciation,
