Suz in Guernsey Guernsey Island-Singles' Collaborative Workshop

October 9-12, 2009, I spent the long weekend in meetings and conversation with single missionaries from several different missions agencies. A small group of three men and five women, we met at Les Cotils, a Christian retreat center overlooking St. Peter Port on the Island of Guernsey. Our goal: study and discuss the Biblical Theology of singleness and missions with Barry Danylak, Doctoral candidate, University of Cambridge. You'll be hearing more as things develop.

Of course, we enjoyed getting to know one another and spending time together in rest and relaxation while discovering Guernsey, an island rich in history just off the northern coast of France.

By the way, here's a good book about Guernsey: Shaffer, Mary Ann and Barrows, Annie. The Guernsey Literary and Pototo Peel Pie Society.

Meetings are scheduled in early November with students at two churches in the Paris region, the Assemblies of God in Pontoise and the Christian Community of Point du Jour in Boulogne-Billancourt.

My objective is to motivate students in local churches to reach out to the university students with whom they are in contact daily. Friendship is first. Then, inviting their friends to visit ConnaitreDieu.com will come naturally. Pray with me that more students in partner churches will rise to the task.

Daylight Savings Time

France fell back one hour last Saturday, October, 24, 2009. So, for one week the time difference between EST and Paris time is seven hours instead of six. I wonder just how many of you knew that! Cultural differences even play out when it comes to fixing the hour.

Here's a link if your interest is peaked.

MonEglise.net

Top Mission, the innovator of TopChretien.com and ConnaitreDieu.com, is launching a new project: MonEglise.net. On-line church services are to begin in November 2009.

The last week of September and the first week of October, a production team met to film worship and preaching for the online church services, tailored for ConnaitreDieu.com visitors who have not yet affiliated themselves with a local church. I assisted the team as chauffeur and all around helper. The next production week is scheduled for the first week of December 2009. I'll be assisting again as chauffeur and however else I can be of service.

I have volunteered to be a direct on-line counselor for those inquirers desiring to chat in response to a service of MonEglise.net. Here's a preview: MonEglise.net Preview

Widget Jesus.net

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. Paris time, Top Mission is providing free on TopChretien.com the Widget 'Jesus.net', a mini version of the DiscoverGod website that can be embedded in any website, in particular on church websites. This way, the Internet seeker who prays to accept Jesus will be directly connected to a local church.

So many church websites don't even mention Jesus! The widget can make the difference! To see a demo of the widget: Widget DiscoverGod
shack The Shack Group

Once or twice a month our small group of four has been meeting together for dinner, fellowship, discussion, and prayer. We started the group to read and discuss The Shack. We certainly are enjoying the experience. It's wonderful getting to know one another, eat tasty meals, reflect, ask questions, laugh, and grow in the wonder of our awesome God.
With heartfelt thanks for your financial support and prayers that the university students of France come to know Jesus.

God bless you richly,
