Greetings!
Wow! Spring already?  Not only are we ready to welcome the wonderful weather, but the Texas Plains Trail Region is also ready to Spring into action.
As many of you know, with Texas facing severe budget cuts, Governor Perry proposed the elimination of the Texas Historical Commission and its many programs including our Texas Heritage Program.  Although the fight isn't completely over, we are feeling a "bit" more confident that we will be allowed to continue our great work in the state.
Thanks so much to our regional and statewide partners for voicing their passionate concerns by making calls, visits, and writing letters. Thank you for loving Texas's unique heritage!
