Greetings!

Adolescence is a time of changes and challenges. We have new lesson series for adolescents, and for adults who are working with these youths. Also, check out Bible Storying for Teens.
Adolescents

High school studentsAre you working with teenagers or youth? Then these new lesson series are for you.

One series, Working with Adolescents, is for parents and other adults. What changes are your teens going through? How can you build on their strengths, and not just get tangled up in their struggles?

Another series is For Teens. Using games, role plays, and other activities, teens will work through many issues they face. Some of the lessons include:
  • Working together
  • Drawing your dreams
  • Working through dilemmas
  • For young women
  • Saying no to drugs
  • Stress and explosions
  • Depression and suicide
  • Spread of STIs
  • Sexual abuse and family violence
These lessons touch on sensitive material, so you will need to adjust the teaching materials and the method of teaching to your culture and your context.

Much of the material in these lessons is adapted from Life Planning Education from Advocates for Youth (2005).

Many of our other CHE lessons can also be used with teens.
Bible Storying for Teens
BST
Bible Storying for Teens focuses primarily on the life of Peter, since Peter faced many of the same struggles that we do. Teens (and adults) will explore the stories, using questions that trigger lively discussions.

They will also act out the stories, practice telling them to each other, and later share the stories with their friends and families.

We look forward to your feedback on these new lessons. Do you have other lessons for teens or their parents? What are your experiences in working with teens? Let us know.
Sincerely,

Jody Collinge
