Global CHE Network

Greetings!
How can up-to-date, reliable health information be taught so that people from many cultures and levels of education, as well as different ages, can put it into use? How can they discover ways to prevent and manage the most important global health care needs?
New Health Teaching Booklets

Diarrhea

How can you care for a child with diarrhea at home?

When would you need to go to the clinic or see a health care provider?

Explore this new series of health teaching booklets that investigate important health issues from breastfeeding to worm infections. The materials are based on guidelines and standards of the World Health Organization, as developed by Health Education Program For Developing Countries. (See the side box.)

These trifold teaching booklets use drawings and questions to pose problems and search for solutions, so they are highly participatory. They are easy to use, and can be used by older children as well as by adults with varied levels of education. You can adjust the illustrations and text to your context and culture. They are currently in PDF format. So try them out and send us your feedback.

Thanks for being part of the Global CHE Network. Be sure to check out the videos, PowerPoints, and new lesson plans on the website. Share your ideas and opinions on the CHE Forum.
Sincerely,

Health Education Program For Developing Countries
HEPFDC
The Health Education Program For Developing Countries was developed by Arnold Gorske, with excellent multi-cultural illustrations by Virginia Mashburn. The HEPFDC program is based on evidence-based information and guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and other organizations.

Find out:
What are the greatest risk factors that cause the most suffering and death worldwide?

What are WHO guidelines to prevent these problems, as well as some treatments that can be done at home?

What health problems are common in both the "developed" and the "developing" world?

How can you prevent and manage these medical problems?
