A Holiday Message from Daniel Majok Gai, PES South Sudan Director:

Dear PES Friends,

I send my greetings from Jonglei State, South Sudan. The country is no longer waiting, we know where we're going now. It's a critical time for South Sudan because we're starting our own lives and moving forward. Development is moving forward and education is number one.

The community people want to thank all of you because you've helped them see the light. Their message to you is:

"Please double your power because our children are benefitting from the education you are helping our communities develop. We the people are not giving up. The government is protecting its people in standing with communities, human rights are being recognized, and equal education for girls and boys are a priority."

2012 is going to be an extraordinary year for both PES and the country of South Sudan. We have our first graduating class for PES in Ayak Anguei Girls School in May. We are building eight classrooms and working on community leadership development.

This past year as PES South Sudan Director has empowered and inspired me to continue working with and empowering my own people for the next 10 years.  God bless each one of you for all the support you continue to give. I wish everybody well for the New Year and look forward to seeing all of you for my return three week trip to the US.  As PES Directors, Carol and I want to wish you all a blessed holiday season and happy new year.
