Ayak Anguei Girls School

Once  Again a Beneficiary of

2011 Half the Sky* Fair

THE WOMEN'S COLLEGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER

     Half the Sky Fair 2011

The 2nd annual Half the Sky* Fair is a lively celebration of the light and hope that women represent around the globe. Project Education Sudan is one of three designated beneficiaries of the two day event. Our three year sister school relationship with The Women's College has produced bookpacks, panties, orphans uniforms, and seeds for the girls' school.

The Women's Communication Network and Lambda Pi Eta, at The Women's College, are raising funds for more uniforms and the Girls Leadership Development Pilot Program. An aspect of the pilot program is healthcare, which includes distribution of washable, reusable sanitary napkins, HIV/AIDS education, and tailoring instruction for a vocational skills class being offered at Ayak Aguei, developed with the girls and PES.

Fall weather means it's the perfect time to stock up on Original Frozen Butter Braids!! And new this season : Caramel Rolls!! Please note that the braids (and rolls) are now selling for $12 each, with $5 going to the charity. $5 can make a huge difference to a girl in South Sudan! I do have a limited quantity of braids that I purchased before the price increase - cream cheese, apple, cherry, and cinnamon. Those are still $10, with $4 of that going to our charity, and I can deliver them immediately . Please message me on facebook if you'd like to order some of these delicious pastries!!!
