"I think Climb for Sudan is great.  It's a wonderful initiative and a great way to act locally, function globally and do something that really draws people into the story of Sudan - particularly its upcoming independence and its continued need for development and attention"

Project Education Sudan is pleased to announce the launch of our largest fundraiser ever! The Climb For Sudan is a 70 day event from July 2nd to September 9th to honor the people of South Sudan as they become the newest nation in the world on July 9, 2011.  For over 20 years they have struggled for independence and freedom through unimaginable challenges.  We celebrate their independence and the importance of education as they build a nation.

To climb is to reach for something greater than ourselves, to rise up, to ascend.  This summer we climb with the people of South Sudan. We are all climbers this summer:

  • Our event sponsors are climbers by helping to raise funds for our projects in South Sudan
  • Our volunteers  are climbers by working here in the US and in the field in South Sudan
  • Students in Colorado schools supporting the students in schools in South Sudan are climbers by reaching out through their fundraising and letters
  • Joe Rogers and Nick Spivey are climbers by taking the summer to climb mountains to draw attention to the amazing stories of the Lost Boys and people of South Sudan
  • You are a climber when you participate in the Climb For Sudan with us!

PES's goal of raising $100,000 during the Climb For Sudan will fund much needed:

  • Classrooms
  • Dormitories
  • Bunk Beds & Bedding
  • Student Desks

for the 3,000 students in PES schools in three rural villages in Jonglei State, the largest and most war affected area in South Sudan.

I bet you're asking yourself...
