The Global Open Challenge Has Begun
Build a Dormitory for 52 Girls in Southern Sudan

From November 24 - December 21, 2009, Project Education Sudan (PES) is competing in the Global Open Challenge on GlobalGiving, an online marketplace for philanthropy.  During the challenge, PES will be raising funds for a two-room dormitory at Ayak Anguei Girls Primary School where over 600 girls are currently sleeping on the ground of inadequate shelter.  In order to keep our project on GlobalGiving and use their website for ongoing fundraising, we need to raise a minimum of $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors during the Challenge period.

The top three projects in the Challenge receiving the most funding will receive additional awards of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000, respectively; the project receiving the greatest number of donations will receive an additional $3,000!

What Others Are Saying About GlobalGiving

"When people ask how they can help in the fight against poverty, there are a thousand good answers, from sponsoring a child to supporting a grass-roots organization through globalgiving.com" - Nicholas Kristof, The New York Times

"Though GlobalGiving's online marketplace for philanthropy, donors support causes ranging from education and the environment to health and human rights. Projects let donors know how it's going through regular updates - so donors can see the results their contributions have enabled." - Fast Company

"It used to be that if you wanted to give and have an impact, people thought you had to be Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey. But because of the way the technology works, you can be an 'ordinary Oprah.' If you've got $10 or $100 or $1,000, you can come and find a school in Africa to support, and you can get updates from the field to get responses to your support." - The Washington Post

Thank you for supporting Project Education Sudan and the girls at Ayak Anguei Primary School!
