Corning's Gaffer District Welcomes Elmira Savings Bank as Title Sponsor of the 16th Annual Jazz & Harvest Festival

Corning, NY - May 3, 2011 - Corning's Gaffer District is pleased to welcome Elmira Savings Bank as the title sponsor of the 16th annual Jazz & Harvest Festival. This year's event takes place on Friday, September 23rd from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday, September 24th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Consistent with its mission of partnership, Elmira Savings Bank adds to its roster of m ore than a dozen regional organizations that benefit from the bank's belief that support and collaboration are the cornerstone of any successful community. Elmira Savings Bank Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Carr notes, "We are very pleased to partner with the Gaffer District to bring this event to our community."
Partnership continues to be the theme of success for Corning's Gaffer District. Executive Director Coleen Fabrizi notes, "Successful events create excellent platforms for welcoming new customers and increasing the number of repeat customers to our downtown. It's very exciting to consider the possibilities ahead for the Jazz and Harvest Festival thanks to the generous support of Elmira Savings Bank."
This year's event highlights include the traditional Friday night Finger Lakes wine and craft beer tasting along with jazz music throughout the district. Guests may participate in the tasting event by purchasing a souvenir wine and beer glass at one of three checkpoints throughout the district. Visitors may sample a variety of wine and beer from a number of award-winning wineries and breweries from the Finger Lakes Region. In addition to the tastings, guests may enjoy live jazz music in many businesses throughout the district.
For the second consecutive year, Saturday's events will be focused on harvest-themed activities. Features include a farmers' market, karaoke, free hayrides and other activities for kids. Music will fill Centerway Stage all weekend, finishing with a Nashville recording artist (TBA). All events are open to the public.
