Corning, NY - November 8, 2010 - Following more than 20 years in business on Historic Market Street, Cafe London owners Julie and Martin Mariner announce their retirement.
In a statement from Cafe London:
It is with deep regret that we announce the closing of Café London.
The business has been well received and recognized by the community and customers who have given rave reviews regarding food, service, and ambiance. Our musicians, Dave Howard and Bert Sal have been appreciated for their contribution of music on Friday and Saturday nights. We have had an incredible staff both in the kitchen led by Chef Joe Rotsell, as well as a group of exceptional and professional servers in the front of the house.
Our goal in re-opening the business was to renovate the building and provide the community with a casual restaurant with a varied and moderately priced menu. We believe we are well on the way to fulfilling this goal and have enjoyed the experience. However, due to personal reasons we have decided to return to retirement and have closed our doors as of Saturday Nov. 6, 2010. The building/business is now on the market.
We wish to thank all our customers, friends and purveyors for their encouragement and support.
Martin and Julie Mariner
