Community Members Work Together to Clean up the Neighborhood |
Corning, NY - May 4, 2010 - Corning's Gaffer District is pleased to recognize the individuals that participated in last weekend's annual Clean Up The Neighborhood.
On the morning of Saturday, May 1st, 2010, the Gaffer District staff and board of directors joined business and property owners, City of Corning employees and dozens of community volunteers in an effort to clean up the district.
The 9th annual cleanup event allowed volunteers an opportunity to clean parking lots, sidewalks and public green spaces in preparation for the busy summer event and tourism season.
"Each summer, our downtown business district hosts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world" said Corning's Gaffer District Executive Director, Coleen Fabrizi. "We're excited to offer them a warm welcome to our beautiful downtown. The volunteer turn-out this year for Clean up the Neighborhood was the largest ever and made an enormous difference, we are very grateful to everyone who helped out!."
