Transportation update at luncheon Fourth Friday Luncheon - Dec. 4 at Hotel Fredonia
Fourth Friday Luncheon will be noon to 1 p.m., Friday,
Dec. 4 at Hotel Fredonia. TxDOT district engineer Dennis Cooley, left, will give an "East
Texas Transportation Update."
Cooley's district
comprises nine counties: Angelina, Houston, Nacogdoches, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby and Trinity.
Lunch is $16
and attendee RSVPs are required by Thursday, Dec. 3. Please complete and fax
in a registration form.
All attending may enter the $50 drawing, and all Chamber members are
entered in a $150 drawing, but you must be present to win. Both drawings

Preparing for Operation Thank You! Jan. 12
Operation Thank You! is an annual
event that gives Chamber directors and other volunteers the opportunity to:
· Deliver the new 2010 Nacogdoches Guide &
Chamber Directory and the 2010 Nacogdoches City & County Street Map to as
many Chamber members as possible.
· To personally say "thank you" for their Chamber
memberships and support.

Summit brings Austin and Washington to East Texas Feb. 17 - 18
The third Lone Star Legislative Summit is set for
Feb. 17-18. A reception will be held the evening of Feb. 17. The summit
speaker and panel sessions begin with breakfast on Feb. 18 in the Baker Pattillo
Student Center.
"We invite state
and federal legislators to Nacogdoches
during the even years for this event," said Summit Chair John
Ruckel. "For the 2010 event, we are inviting our U.S.
Senators, Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, Congressman Louie
Gohmert and others."
Topics to be
explored include education, transportation, water/natural resources and
property rights - the issues and legislation that affect East Texans.
Event sponsor opportunities and exhibit spaces are available.
