Alive After Five, Sept. 17 at Regions Bank

Regions Bank, 300 E. Main St. in historic downtown, is hosting Alive After Five, Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. President Jason Sobel invites everyone to attend and enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks and live entertainment. Register for great door prizes and take home some cool goodies!
 
The reception is come-as-you-are, and gives every Chamber member a chance to meet and greet others in business. Bring a guest and make new contacts. All Chamber members are entered in the $250 cash drawing, but you must be present to win!
 
88th Annual Meeting and Banquet
Sept. 29, Baker Pattillo Student Center Grand Ballroom

The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and banquet is Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the Grand Ballroom, SFA student center. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a raffle and social hour. Dinner and the program begins at 7 p.m.
 
Citizen of the Year Dr. Patsy Hallman will be recognized at the banquet as well as the business excellence award recipients:  NIBCO, Inc., Large Business of the Year; Axley & Rode, LLP, Medium Business of the Year; and Glass Castles Stained Glass Studio & Gifts, Small Business of the Year.

Attend workshop to increase sales, profits
Jon Schallert, Oct. 6, Hotel Fredonia

Nationally acclaimed speaker Jon Schallert will present "Increasing Sales & Profits as a Destination Business," 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Hotel Fredonia.
 
"This session with Jon will provide invaluable insight on what Nacogdoches' business leaders can do to produce a better retail climate, expand economic development efforts and create a working 'destination business' practice," said Main Street Manager Sarah O'Brien.
 
The Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau, NEDCO, the City, the Main Street Program and the Chamber will host the workshop and encourage all regional business owners to take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn from Schallert.
 
Registration is required. Click here for an information brochure. Also in the brochure, learn more about a bonus event: "Murder on Main Street" mystery dinner and barbecue cook-out on the brick streets. Hors d'oeurves and cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5. The Millard's crossing players will perform. Tickets for the murder mystery and dinner are $25 each.
