Dear Members:
Another busy month is upon us! At the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, we are constantly bringing Chamber members a variety of events, programs and benefits and this month is no exception!
June is traditionally the month that the Vaughan Chamber holds our Annual Golf Tournament, and this year, the popular event in question will be held on Monday, June 27th. Being held once again at The Country Club in Woodbridge, this event is already almost full! Make sure you don't miss out - register today! Registration information will be found further down this newsletter.
The Vaughan Chamber is also participating once again in a multi-Chamber event that proved to be wildly successful last year: The Colossal Chamber Connection Event. Participants include TEN Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade from across York Region and their members. There are already well over 400 registrants attending this event, so this is one amazing networking opportunity you don't want to miss.
Another incredible event we are holding this month is the "Women to Women: Wine Pairing with Rossana" event. This unique event will be held this Thursday in the Magnotta Wine Cellars. Rossana Magnotta will be hosting this fabulous evening, giving pointers on elegant and delicious wine pairings. There are only a few spots left for this gathering, so make sure you register as soon as possible. The link for registration can be found below.
Of course, our Vaughan Chamber of Commerce Business Academy (VCCBA) programs continue to give you added value to your membership .... the next Peer Learning session will be held on June 22nd on the topic of "Effective Communication".
Remember, you are a vital part of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. It's because of people like you that we can say: "membership has its privileges". To get the most from your membership, participate in as many of our events as you can and if possible, join one of our active committees and become really involved in promoting and working for our ever growing and diverse business community.

Let's Talk Exports Luncheon Informative & Well Attended
 The Vaughan Chamber of Commerce brought Export Development Canada's annual "Let's Talk Exports" luncheon to our members last Wednesday, June 1. The popular session presented the most up-to-date information available on the global economy and how it impacts business. Peter Hall, EDC's Vice President and Chief Economist, held an engaging presentation featuring the latest information on the global economy and the impact it will have on Canadian businesses.

Canadian Chamber of Commerce Weighs In on the Federal Budget
Good News for Canadian Employers
The Canadian Chamber believes measures announced in yesterday's federal budget will continue to support the economic recovery by helping Canadian businesses prosper, compete and create jobs.
"We are pleased that this budget reflects the one tabled in March," said Canadian Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Perrin Beatty. "The government has endorsed our call for a plan to return to budget balance in the medium term by committing to eliminate the deficit by 2014-15 without raising taxes on businesses and families," Beatty added. "This will secure the fiscal flexibility that is crucial to our long-term competitiveness and it is encouraging that the government continues to focus on strengthening the economy and creating jobs. That is what businesses and Canadians need now."
