Dear ,
Last week, we presented a
free educational program on heel pressure ulcers called "Heel Pressure Ulcers:
A to Z" with Dr. Diane Langemo. The hour long webinar was a can't-miss
opportunity to learn about current
incidence and prevalence rates, guidelines on repositioning, how to lower your
risk for pressure ulcers and more. But, like every can't-miss opportunity, some
of you missed it. That's why we've posted the archived version of the
presentation. Just visit: www.o-wm.com/pressure-ulcers to
register and view the complete presentation (audio and transcripts of the
Q&A portion will be added soon). You
can also find a link to the registration page on our website, www.heelift.com where you'll also find links
to our Heelift Savings Calculator (showing you how much the Heelift can save
your facility) and our Resource Center (featuring clinical articles, customer
testimonials and more). DM
Systems is proud to bring you the latest in educational materials on heel
pressure ulcers, and we thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Denis B. Drennan, MD President, DM Systems Inc.

"This product healed our resident's unstageable 2x2 cm
eschar area to the posterior right heel in 3 weeks! The skin was
completely epithelialized at the 22nd day. I am thoroughly impressed. I
have not seen any other product work so effectively and rapidly."

Heel Ulcer Incidence Following Orthopedic Surgery: A Prospective, Observational Study Karen E. Campbell, RN, MScN, PhD; M. Gail Woodbury, BSc, BScPT, MSc,
PhD; Terri Labate, RN, BScN, MClSc; Anne LeMesurier, RN, BScN, IIWCC;
and Pamela E. Houghton, BScPT, PhD Ostomy Wound Management August 2010, Vol. 56, Issue 8
People undergoing orthopedic surgery receive care at many points along
the healthcare continuum. Although heel pressure ulcer (HPU) incidence
in the orthopedic population has been reported to be 13.3%, information
is limited. The purpose of this prospective observational study was to
evaluate: 1) the cumulative incidence of HPUs in orthopedic patients
across the continuum of care, and 2) the outcome of HPUs once they
occurred. This is the first study to follow orthopedic patients
across the continuum of care.
