County Participates in ACCG's Georgia County Internship Program
Interns Rufus Butler and Jennifer-Jo CluffDuring the months of November and December of 2010, the Board of County Commissioners participated in the Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP), through the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), which provided counties throughout Georgia funding to hire full-time college students as paid interns for up to 160 hours. The County partnered with the College of Coastal Georgia to recruit two (2) qualified applicants for this opportunity at no cost to the County.

Interns, Rufus Butler and Jennifer-Jo Cluff, were recruited and performed excellent work in the areas in which they were assigned, including Administration, General Government and Human Resources. This opportunity helped these students gain professional work experience, as well as a better understanding of the functions of their local government. Rufus and Jennifer were publically recognized for their contributions to our organization during the Board meeting on Tuesday, January 04, 2011.
