A Message from the County Administrator
Steve L. Howard, County Administrator
September marks the beginning of many changes to come for Camden County Government. Due to the resignation of Commissioner Stephen L. Berry, the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with the County Charter, has appointed Jimmy Starline to serve as Commissioner for District 3 to fulfill the remaining term ending December 31, 2012. Mr. Starline has lived in Camden County for many years and is a local business owner. His residence is in District 3.
 
As a result of recent elections, Chuck Clark was elected to serve as Commissioner for Distict 2; Gary Blount was elected to serve as Commissioner for District 4. Both take office effective January 01, 2011.

2nd Annual Employee Awards Ceremony
On Friday, August 20, 2010, Camden County Government's Employee Recognition Committee hosted the  2nd Annual Employee Awards Ceremony at the College of Coastal Georgia, Camden Campus. The theme for the night was centered around wellness.

The Employee Recognition Committee would like to thank all of the sponsors for their generous contributions and support of the employees. Susan Conaway, Chair of the Employee Recognition Committee said, "Without the sponsors, this event would not have been possible. These are some extremely tough times and these individuals and organizations really came through for Camden County employees. We cannot thank them enough." This event was hosted at NO COST to the County.

HOPE is helping to build "Justin's Miracle Field"
The Miracle League of Camden CountyCamden County Government's HOPE Charity Committee is dedicated to making a difference by supporting local charitable events and is currently supporting the initiative of raising money to help build "Justin's Miracle Field" in Kingsland. This field will enable children and adults with special needs to play baseball. On Saturday, August 14, 2010, the HOPE Charity Committee hosted a Boston Butt cookout/sale to assist in raising funds for this great cause. Thanks to the generous donations of our County employees and citizens, over $1,200 was raised! All the proceeds were donated to The Miracle League of Camden County! [Full Press Release...]

Showcase Camden County Photo ContestCamden County's natural landscapes, historic beauty, and unique events provide limitless opportunities to capture through the lens of a camera. The Board of County Commissioners invites you to participate in the 2010 "Showcase Camden County" photo contest by submitting your best photos of the attractions that contribute to making Camden County "Georgia's Coastal Community of Choice!"
