About the New Location

For those who are unfamiliar, the County purchased the old Kingsland Post Office located at 131 N. Lee Street.

The building has been re-engineered to withstand a Category 4 hurricane. It
has been outfitted with all necessary communications equipment, along with an emergency generator with electrical capacity to run the entire building in the event of a power failure.  The entire structure from the roof to the foundation has been reinforced to provide a safe and comfortable working environment for our local decision makers and their staffs.

Mark Crews, EMA Director, stated, "The completion of the Emergency Operations Center shows the level of commitment that the Board of County Commissioners has in making sure that the community is well prepared for emergencies. I am very proud to be a part of this project!"
We hope you will join us for this special event!
