Thank YouTee Up For Tots! Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Pediatric Cancer Research
 
Tee Up For TotsTee Up For Tots held their 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on August 28th at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort.
 
This fabulous event raises money for pediatric cancer research at the Steele Center. The funds have enabled TUFT to establish the "Courtney Page Zillman Fellow," program, which supports the cnacer research of a young and promising graduate student for two years at a time. Learn more>> 
 
We give a heartfelt "Thanks!" to all of the TUFT volunteers and golfers who made this tournament a success! We appreciate your support and dedication to creating a healthier future for children. 
 
 
 
'Hyundai Hope on Wheels' Donates $40,000 to Pediatric Cancer Research at the Steele Center
 
Hyundai Hope on WheelsOn September 15, pediatric cancer patients had a great time putting their painted handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe after Hyundai's Hope on Wheels donated $20,000 and Jim Click Automotive donated an additional $20,000 to the Steele Center for childhood cancer research. read more>>  View video of event>>
 
 
Steele Center Receives NIH 'American Recovery and Reinvestment' Grant to Study Role of Calcium in IBD-related Bone Loss
 
Dr. GhishanFayez K. Ghishan, MD, director of the Steele Children's Research Center has received a $605,250, two-year National Institutes of Health American Recovery and Reinvestment grant to study the role calcium plays in inflammatory bowel disease-related bone loss.
  
The grant, "Development of Intestinal Transport of Calcium and Phosphate," is funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, part of NIH. It will expand the ongoing research conducted by Dr. Ghishan and his research team to include another key component related to bone health--calcium--and how inflammation affects calcium absorption by the gut and the kidneys. read more>>
 
 
"Viva Las Vegas" Show to Benefit Type 1 Diabetes Research, Monday, October 26th

GaslightLogoThe Gaslight Theater and the Steele Center invite you to a night of tributes to your favorite Vegas stars. 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit type 1 diabetes research at the Steele Center.

Salpointe Catholic High School's "Games for the Greater Good" Will Dedicate Game to Type 1 Diabetes Research on October 30th

You are invited to join us on October 30th,  when Salpointe Catholic High School will dedicate their football game to type 1 diabetes at the Steele Center.
