The WWP Team journeyed to Foca River Valley, once an environment for harboring war criminals and appalling atrocities against women during the mid-1990s war, to interview Muslim returnees who are trying to rebuild their lives.

On September 23rd, Leymah Gbowee visited Riverdale Country School in New York to receive the first annual Jolli Humanitarian Award. As part of the honor, one of their buildings was named "The Leymah Gbowee Building"!
Also in September, Leymah was honored with the Livia Award by the Danish based Livia Foundation which is given to those “who have thought and acted boldly, imaginatively and peacefully - in the middle of steep and complex society conflicts”

The world-renowned artist Joan Snyder ‘s incredible painting titled WOL, shown above, was inspired by the women of Liberia.
It is currently on display in New York at the Betty Cuningham Gallery in an exhibition entitled "Joan Snyder: A Year In the Painting Life," running from September 17th to October 30th.
