On Friday July 24 & Saturday, July 25, 2009, The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) in collaboration with the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania (LAP) will be celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Liberia.

The Celebrate Africa 2009 Committee and officers and members of the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania unanimously selected Leymah Gbowee as one of their Honorees based on her daring and courageous action of restoring peace to Liberia with the Women in Peace Building Network of Liberia as documented in Pray the Devil Back to Hell.

Gbowee will accept her award on a ceremony on July 25, 2009 at the AAMP. The occasion is also in commemoration of the 162nd Independence Day Celebration of the Republic of Liberia.
