Continuing our Outreach to International Communities

On Sunday and Monday, the film played in Khartoum for audiences packed with peace activists, dissidents and young women and men who had come from Southern Sudan and Darfur. The reactions were extraordinary. Our second screening took place atAhfad University, a one-hundred year old women’s university for young women from all over Sudan, many on scholarships underwritten by generous men and women from Khartoum.

The women stayed to talk about the film for more than two hours, and by the end of the discussion they had decided to get to work on a position statement demanding peace in Darfur. Right now they are hard at work—they plan to collect ONE MILLION Sudanese women’s signatures on this statement, which they plan to present to the government in Khartoum by year’s end. We will keep you up on the developments in Sudan, but in the meantime we congratulate these amazing women for taking on this bold task!!

Currently, Pray the Devil is being screened in Nairobi, Kenya, to groups of activists and peacebuilders. A Cambodian premiere early next year is also in the works.
