What is a Brown Bag Fruit Pie you ask....
They are different from our usual Whole Wheat Butter Pastry Crumble Pies.
This is a 9" pie with a regular bottom pastry which is filled with
2 lbs.of fresh, local fruit (not cooked down in a syrup).
It is topped with a loose layer of a unique, buttery, crunchy, cookie like crust. The baking process is longer as it actually bakes inside the brown bag. This not only steams the fruit but also crisps up the topping making it soooo delicious.
Some have said it's "the best pie they have ever had".
They come in 2 sizes - sm. 9.95 & larg. 16.95.
