Welcome to the Haverford Education Foundation Newsletter
Welcome to the Haverford Township School District Education Foundation's newsletter. Formed in 2003 to provide funding for innovative programs and projects beyond those which the school district can provide, we have grown from just an idea in the minds of a few people to a thriving Foundation. We thank our community and business supporters for making our success possible.

Foundation Twilight 5K Run and 1 Mile Kid's Race, April 25
Our second annual Twilight 5K Run and Walk will be held on April 25 at 5:00 p.m. In addition to the 5K open to all ages, we will also have a one mile "Kid's Race". Both teams and individual runners are invited to run the Kid's Race.
Registration for the race will be in the Haverford High School Cafeteria, 200 Mill Road, Havertown, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The race will start in front of Haverford Middle School, 1701 Darby Road and end on the high school track behind the middle school.
Last year we were thrilled when hundreds of runners and walkers came out to support our first major project, the building of a state-of-the-art TV station at the high school. We're well on our way but more is needed. Please help us raise funds to finish the TV station project and to support our on-going mini-grant program for innovative projects in all the schools. For details of the race and to register, please visit www.HaverfordTwilightRun.org, and dust off those running shoes! Consider becoming a sponsor! Visit http://www.HaverfordTwilightRun.org/sponsors.php to learn how to become a sponsor and for the details on how your name or business logo may be displayed on the race t-shirt and the race website. |

Can You Spare Some Change? We hope you think the Foundation has been changing the school district for the better and we ask you to continue to support that change with your spare change. This April, as a prelude to the Twilight 5K Run and Walk, we will be asking our elementary students to bring in spare change for the TV station project. Please watch for the collections jars in the school and empty those pockets!

The Foundation Embraces Facebook Sometimes the children lead the adults. Facebook, a social networking website long used by students has reminded us, once again, of the power of the Internet. The Foundation has followed our students' lead and established a Facebook page. If you already have a Facebook account, search for "Haverford Education Foundation" and become a fan of our site. If you do not have a Facebook account--now is the time! Become one of our "fans" and post your ideas and comments on our "wall". (If you don't understand any of this, ask your kids!) |
